Schools & Education

Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District consists of 8 campuses for grades K-12.

The school district occupies approximately 300 square miles of San Diego County and enjoys a reputation as an outstanding school district.  On July 1, 2000, the Valley Center Union Elementary School District unified with Pauma Elementary School District and Valley Center High School from the Escondido Union High School District to become the Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District. The area’s educational services now include Pauma School, and Valley Center High School, and in September 2003, the District opened Lilac School, a K-5 elementary school.

The area is predominately agricultural with numerous citrus and avocado groves. The community supports many active civic and youth organizations, and the schools enjoy a high level of community involvement. Parents and citizens are supportive of the schools and are involved in a variety of school related councils and activities. The Middle School has received national and state awards for excellence.

VC Primary School

VC Primary (K-2) is the home of the Bee’s, a school fully devoted to early learning development. The Primary School is also the location for the Developmental Preschool Program and Preschool for All.

 

Lilac School is our newest campus and allows our “Lizards” to play, learn, and grow in a comfortable and homelike atmosphere.

 

 

Pauma School is a close knit environment where students grow and learn together from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The small campus allows children to develop tight friendships community. Pauma School provides the Bobcats with an award winning K-8th PAR golf program.

VC Elementary the resting site of the Valley Center School Bell, is dedicated to building a solid stepping stone from elementary to junior high, “Once a Roadrunner always a Pathfinder”.

Valley Center Middle School Proud home of the Thunder Hawks, the middle school focuses not only on learning in the class room but through activities such as Renaissance Fairs, Civil War Reenactments, Frontier Days, and an active Ag Farm. The school also has a wonderful sports program teaching students not only academic excellence but team work, commitment, and dedication.

VC High School Jaguars (9-12) A campus full of life and excitement, the high school offers so much more than classes and AP courses. Through an active ASB leadership body, students have weekly activities, lunch DJ’s, and pep rallies driven by a winning sports program and competitive class competitions. The High School also offers a variety of ROP classes including Medical Technology, Agricultural Mechanics, Auto, and much more.
